Drifloon Hat Pattern

image

“Wandering souls gathered together to form this Pokémon. When trying to make friends with children, Drifloon grabs them by the hand.”

Halloween is approaching so it seemed like a good time to knit a cute hat inspired by a ghost-type Pokémon! This hat makes a good last-minute costume and will keep you warm while trick-or-treating or fighting in the halloween raids on Pokémon GO.

(Don’t delete my caption while reblogging. Thanks!)

Materials:

  • US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles
  • US 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook
  • Loops and Threads Impeccable in lavender
  • Loops and Threads Impeccable in butterscotch
  • Black yarn (I think mine was Red Heart? It was leftover from another project)
  • For the pompom, I will be using some leftover bulky weight white yarn and a clover jumbo pompom maker but you can use whatever pompom method you’d like! Just as long as it’s huge, bulky, and white.

Hat

With purple, CO 80 stitches in the round. I divided my stitches among 4 needles so I had 20 stitches on each needle.

Rounds 1-9 : knit nine rounds in k2p2 rib

Round 10: starting with the first stitch, pick up the first stitch from the cast on edge and knit it with the first stitch on your needles to create a cuffed brim. Continue with the rest of your stitches. This website explains the technique a little bit better!

Now knit until your project is 6 inches long.

Decreasing:

Round 1: k2tog, k8 all around (72)

Rounds 2&3: knit

Round 4: k2tog, k7 (64)
